Just a 10 minutes drive from the art community of Ubud in
Central Bali, Hotel Bunga Permai is located on a hilltop overlooking
a lush, winding river gorge and terraced rice fields, with
the volcano, Gunung Agung in the background. Located in the
small village of Bunutan, it gives its guests access to both
the culture and shops of busy Ubud, and the simple village
life. The central Balinese countryside surrounding Hotel Bunga
Permai is rich in crafts, culture and color with terraced
rice fields and village lanes made for walking, biking and
exploring.
We think you can safely call this a "cult" hotel,
or the best kept (for now) secret in the whole of Bali. We
say this because Bunga Permai was only built in 1997, so not
many people know about it yet. But those that do, absolutely
rave about it.
Bunga Permai is run by a Dutch-Balinese couple and a team
of local staff. This blend of cultures really equates well
for the hotel as far as western tourists are concerned. As
you have the artistic & hospitable Balinese outlook combined
with a European's appreciation
for what makes a comfortable hotel. Your really do get the
best of both worlds here. From the wonderful wood-rich rooms
within gorgeous Balinese thatched buildings. To efficient
Dutch resolve making absolutely sure mother nature is kept
beautiful but at bay from the
rooms and restaurant!
You really can not find a hotel with any better a view. Apart
from the stunning River Campuhan and its gorge below with
its idyllic stepped rice terraces, you have views over coconut
tree lined rice paddies to Gunung (Mt) Abang & Gunung
Agung. All this before you start appraising (praising) the
hotel & its staff. As one guest recently wrote "I
doubt a better place exists for even 3 times the rate and
I am not kidding." |
