| The Kuta Beach Karnival - A Celebration of Life
The first Kuta Beach Karnival in Bali, started from september 11th
2003 to october 12th 2003 has so far been a major attraction for
both local and tourist. Many have seen the carnival with “A
Celebration of Life” as their themes, a media of togetherness
to bond the diversity of culture and to commemorate the victims
of Bali bombing. Indeed the carnival intended to honor the victim
of both US sept 11 terrorist attacks and Bali bombing October 12th
with the final day to be the grand opening of Kuta monument in Bali
bombing’s ground zero.
The Kuta Beach Karnival so far has been a successful event which
includes many attractive activities
such as the ever famous beach soccer in the outstretched Kuta and
Legian beach, kid’s kite competitions, surfer girls rap, rock
and run festival, fun walks, traditional Balinese dances, community
bazaars, live bands, the X-games of skateboarding, surf and roller
blades, and many others that last for the full month of the carnival.
Although it is not yet as famous as
the ‘bermuda’ or ‘mardi gras’ festival,
it has applauded much of the local attentions and media counterpart.
It is expected that the carnival to become an annual event calendar
to further promotes Bali to the world.
